IPL 2021: Withdrawal of Johnny Bairstow, Butler and Malan

New Delhi; NEW: the Deccan opener Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Royals, and Kings XI Punjab’s David Malani has withdrawn from the second phase of the IPL 2021.

This is a big blow for Rajasthan, as they already have Joffra Archer and Ben Stokes out of the squad. Malan has withdrawn from the IPL to allow time for his family before the Twenty20 World Cup and Ashes series. He will be replaced by Aidan Markram from Punjab Kings.

The fifth Test of India’s tour of England was canceled. The decision was taken after Indian team physio Yogesh Parmar’s corona report came back positive. The Indian team took a 2-1 lead in the series, But the fifth Test had to be canceled as Corona was found sick.

Now Indian players are entering the UAE one by one for the second phase of IPL 2021, But India’s cancellation of the fifth Test has angered England and now three players have withdrawn from the IPL. This is a big blow to the IPL franchise.

Shiledar of Mumbai Indians arrives in Dubai

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, and Cheteshwar Pujara, members of the Chennai Super Kings, left London for Dubai on Saturday night. He was accompanied by Sam Curran and Moin Ali.

Delhi Capital’s R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant, and Akshar Patel, while Punjab Kings’ Lokesh Rahul, Mohammad Shami and Mayank Agarwal will leave for Dubai on an Emirates flight. Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav have arrived in Dubai.
