Ukraine. Condition of crops worsening

As of March 11, almost 0.77 million hectares sown to winter crops were staying under ice crust, which is 9.1% of the acreage, compared to 7.2% a week before, a press release of the agricultural policy ministry says.

The death of winter crops was registered on 1.6% of the acreage, which is almost 0.14 million hectares.

86.5% of the acreage, or almost 7.3 million hectares, are in a good and satisfactory condition.

Ukraine sowed winter crops, including rape, on 10.1 million hectares, which is almost 3% up on the 2008 acreage.
