The Crop Tours: General Description  

              The countries: Ukraine and Russia

The Crop Tours will cover central and southern regions of Ukraine (Kiev, Cherkassy, Kirovograd, Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava regions).

Regions in Russia include Rostov (with visits to grain export terminals - Rostov, Taganrog, Azov, others), Krasnodar (Novorossiysk export terminal) and Stavropol.   

Target group: exporters and importers of the Black Sea grain, traders, experts of the Ukrainian, Russian and foreign companies, foreign farmers

The purpose of the Crop Tours:

Ø      To study crop conditions directly in the countries-producers, to develop your own impressions about prospects of grain harvest

Ø      Meetings with farmers, associations, traders, networking with representatives of business of Ukraine and Russia

UkrAgroConsult will arrange the following :

Ø      Tailoring of Crop Tour program,  incl. support by the expert - the agronomist, visiting of the farms and meetings with farmers, traders, government bodies, potential partners, fact-finding research, excursions and the cultural program;

Ø      All spectrum of other services: program management, hotel booking (2-3* in the country side), transport (car, minivan/bus), service of the translator and the guide

Ø      Preparation of a Review of agrarian sector of Ukraine and Russia, the report about the results of the Crop Tour with corresponding grain production outlooks

The Crop Tours will focus on the following:  

Ø      April – Crop Tour "Winter wheat conditions". This Tour is arranged together with UkrAgoConsult annual conference «Black Sea Grain»

Ø     June, 15-25 – Crop Tour "Cereals". Inspection of fields of a winter wheat, barley, spring cereals, maize (corn), sunflower, farmers’ opinions of the coming harvest size and wheat quality

Ø      August, 20-30 – Crop Tour "Sunflower". Inspection of fields of sunflower, maize (corn), soy, to clarify the results of harvesting of cereals, farmers’ intentions for winter crops seeding

Other time of the Crop Tour is possible

 UkrAgroConsult EXPERIENCE IN THE CROP TOURS

2004: Sunflower-2004

From August 27 till September, 04. The Crop Tour was of about 4,5 Th km length. Our experts inspected sunflower conditions in the key regions of its cultivation in Ukraine and Russia. 

The Tour covered southern areas of Ukraine (Crimea, Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov regions) and Russia (Voronezh, Rostov regions and Krasnodar territory).

2005: Cereals - 2005

The Crop Tour covered 13 areas of Ukraine. The Tour lasted from June, 05 till June, 11, 2005. Expert from the US Wheat Associates took part as a guest expert.  One of the purposes of inviting the expert was improvement of inspection techniques used by UkrAgroConsult.

Sunflower - 2005

Experts of UkrAgroConsult were touring from August, 22 to 26 inspecting sunflower fields  in the key regions of Ukraine (Odessa, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk, Kirovograd, Kiev, Poltava, Cherkassy).

2006

April, 7-10 - inspection «Winter crop conditions - 2006 » with participation of experts from Canadiаn Wheat Board.

June, 17-21 – Crop Tour «Cereals - 2006» with participation of Association of British farmers

On August, 19-23 – Crop Tour «Sunflower 2006»

Partner of the Crop Tour «Sunflower 2006» -    «Grain Trading Company - All seeds, Ukraine ».

2007

On April, 20-26 «Winter Crops Conditionsr - 2007» (Kiev - South of Ukraine - Rostov–on Don - Krasnodar).

This Crop Tour is included in the proposal for participants of annual international conference «Black Sea Grain - 2007»

June, 15-25 – Crop Tour «Cereals  - 2007»

August, 20-25 – Crop Tour «Sunflower - 2007», including maize (corn) and soy fields. Group of the companies «Grain Trading Company - All seeds, Ukraine» agreed to be a partner of the Crop Tour.

2008

April 20-23 - “Winter Crop Conditions – 2007”

This inspection is included into the list of offers of the annual International conference “Black Sea Grain – 2008”

May 26-30 – Route inspection “Grain-2008” with specialists from Wheat Associates – USA.

June 16-19 - Route inspection “Grain-2008” with specialists from AWB National Pool – Australia

September 15-18 – Route inspection with specialists from Canadian Wheat Board – Canada

November 3-7 – Route inspection “Sunseed-2008” with specialists from LMC International (Great Britain)
