The Ukrainian Agriculture Policy Ministry has predicted the country will export 17.513 million tonnes of grain in the 2008/2009 agricultural year, which would be a 370% increase from the roughly 3.7 million tonnes exported in the previous year.
The ministry also confirmed its earlier grain harvest forecast of 43 million tonnes in 2008 compared to 29.3 million tonnes in the previous year.
These forecasts are contained in materials for a meeting on the stabilization of the grain market to be chaired by Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in Kyiv on Tuesday.
