According to the National bureau of statistics, in October of this year the prices for foodstuffs have increased by 1,5 %, for non-food– by 0,4 %, and for services rendered to population- by 0,5 %, respectively. The growth in the price for foodstuffs is stipulated by the rise in prices for tomatoes by 30,2 %, eggplants – by 7,2 %, sweet pepper- by 6,4 %, dietary eggs– by 12,5 %, water-melons and melons – 12,1 % and sausages – 3 %. Among non-food stuffs the largest increase in prices was registered for: winter clothes (1,6 %), winter footwear (2,7 %), coal, as well as cleaners and detergents (1,1 %). In October, the tariffs for water supply and sewerage – 7,1 %, hotel services and sanatorium treatment – 5,7 %, as well as public catering services – 1,5 % have also increased. At the same time, in October, the reduction of prices for wheat flour, groats, sugar, sunflower oil, fruits, grapes, cabbage, and onions was registered. Besides, in October the prices for natural gas in cylinders, transport fuel, TVs, phones and audio-video equipment also fell. Inflation for the last 12 months (since October, 2007 till October 2008) has made 9,8 %.
