Tony Moore, the vice president of the US Poultry and Egg Council, said he is hopeful that the current lull in the meat exports to Russia, is only going to be temporary.

 

Russia has recently been taking 30% of US poultry meat, until the problems occurred in Georgia.

 

The experts outside of the US believe, that the US sales will not get back to any sizable levels, until the new administration takes office on January 20, 2009.

 

There is a lot of bad feeling in the all powerful Russian government, over the United States, in relation to the deployment of missile to Poland, along with the dispute in Georgia.

 

As a direct result of these disputes, Russia withdrew the licenses in 19 US meat exporters.

 

Sergey Yushin, from the Russian National Meat Association, has made it quite clear on his recent trip the Australia, that Russia is sourcing new suppliers, that are more politically neutral.

 

Senator John McCain, did considerable damage to US Russian relations, in his Georgia involvements and remarks made about the Prime Minister of Russia, in his failed election campaign.
