According to figures by the Albanian Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection Ministry, agricultural production increased by 4.7% in 2007. The production of wheat grew by 32.6%, the production of vegetables by 15% and the production of maize by 5%. The ministry has said that private investment in the agriculture industry rose by USD 23mn (EUR 18.35mn) in 2008.
