Commodities exports from Kazakhstan mixed in Jan-Sep.   Print  E-mail 

Commodities exports from Kazakhstan were mixed in Jan-Sep, the State Stat Agency reported. Wheat exports decreased by 6.1% y/y to 3,98mn tons. The drop was caused by ban on wheat exports during summer months as well as lower harvest this year. In monetary terms, wheat exports surged by 84.3% y/y to USD 1,118mn in the reported period. Iron ores supplies increased by 6% y/y to 11.932mn tons while in monetary terms surged by 72.9% y/y to USD 994.4mn. Coal exports grew by 29.8% y/y to 24.791mn tons and by 65.4% y/y to USD 627.2mn. Cotton fibre supplies dropped 49.4% y/y to 63,100 tons and by 27.3% y/y to USD 87.5mn. Ferrro-alloys deliveries went up by 1.7% y/y to 985,700 tons and surged by 132.3% y/y t USD 2,244mn. Refined copper and alloys exports decreased by 26.9% y/y to 221,600 tons and in monetary terms a drop made up 17.1% y/y to USD 1.7bn. Alumina exports surged by 444.2% to 76,800 tons while in monetary terms, supplies skyrocketed by 1,215% to USD 221.7mn in Jan-Sep. Raw zinc exports grew by 6.7% to 251,400 tons but declined by 35.9% y/y to USD 521.4mn. Lead supplies decreased by 14.1% y/y to 70,500 tons but in monetary terms, exports grew by 7.1% to USD 171.1mn.
