Russia has given green light to supply of meat products from Argentinean and Paraguayan enterprises.
As Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) reports, Argentinean enterprise N3778 and Paraguayan enterprise N2 were authorized for supply of their products to Russia. The decision was made subject to safety guarantees provided by veterinary services of the aforementioned countries, and the results of official investigations held by the services in relation to these enterprises.
The supply from Argentinean and Paraguayan plants was banned from May 7, 2008 and September 18 respectively, due to violations of Russian veterinary requirements, as Interfax reports.
Rosselkhoznadzor also reported on introduction of the ban on supply of meat products produced at 5 Australian plants. The detection of coliform bacteria in frozen veal in the course of laboratory research has become the reason for the ban introduction.
