Russia is seeking to export as much as 2 million tons of wheat a year to Brazil and increase soy imports from the country.

 

``We discussed the possibility of shipping Russian wheat to Brazil and increasing Russian imports of soy from Brazil to one million tons,'' Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev said after meeting with his Brazilian counterpart Reinhold Stephanes on Nov. 21, according to a statement on the ministry's Web site dated the next day. The ministry didn't give a figure for the prior year.
