Arbuzov discusses situation on Roshen and Inkerman in Belarus

Ukraine is interested in development of trade and economic relations with Belarus.

First Vice Premier of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov has said about this during his working visit to the Republic of Belarus, where the government delegation of Ukraine headed by him met with representatives of Belarusian authorities, and Arbuzov himself held negotiations with First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko.

“Belarus is our important trade and economic partner. Last year, foreign trade turnover between the countries reached a record-making level of USD 7.5 billion. We are interested in its boosting and using more fully,” the press service of the official quotes him.

He stressed that he considers a priority to solve the tasks set by President of the two countries Viktor Yanukovych and Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting of July 18, in Kyiv. Realization of agreements is also important, which have been reached by the parties at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation on May 22.

The Vice Prime Minister proposed to pay a special attention to problematic issues of bilateral relations. In particular, the matter concerns the situation with Roshen and Inkerman products, increase of transport licenses, and expansion of the Ukrainian airlines' presence in the Belarusian air space.

“I am convinced that systemic work will allow reaching concrete results. The volumes of foreign trade turnover between the countries will largely depend on effectiveness of our work,” Arbuzov stressed.

He added that during a meeting the parties agreed on steps for realization of joint projects. The First Vice Prime Minister expressed conviction that the countries could boost cooperation rates in the spheres of energy, machine building and agroindustrial complex.
