Belarus bans transit of Roshen products to Russia


Belarus has banned the importation of confectionery products manufactured at the factories of the Ukrainian Roshen Corporation from its territory to Russia, reads a statement posted on the official website of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on Friday.

"The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus in accordance with the Customs Union Agreement on Sanitary Measures of 11 December 2009 has taken measures to prevent the import into the territory of the Russian Federation through the checkpoints on the Belarusian section of the Customs Union customs border and the re-export of confectionery products produced at factories of Roshen Corporation (Ukraine), from the territory of the Republic of Belarus,” the ministry said.

Apart from this, experts of the agencies and institutions exercising state sanitary supervision are sampling these products for laboratory testing for compliance with the legislation of the Customs Union.

"In the case of noncompliance of the Ukrainian confectionery products with the established safety requirements, comprehensive measures will be taken in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Belarus and the Customs Union," to the Belarusian ministry stressed.
