Belarus’ foreign trade surplus at $369.2m in January-June

In January-June 2013 Belarus’ surplus of foreign trade in goods and services made up $369.2 million according to the preliminary data available on the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

In January-June 2013 Belarus’ trade in goods and services went down by 16% if compared with January-June 2012 to $44,121.8 million. Export shrank by 20.7% from January-June 2012 to $22,245.5 million. Import dropped by 10.6% to $21,876.3 million.

In January-June 2013 Belarus’ merchandise trade amounted to $38,912 million, 81.2% as against January-June 2012. Merchandise export reached $18,903.4 million (75.1%), with merchandise import at $20,008.6 million (88%). The deficit of Belarus’ merchandise trade amounted to $1,105.2 million.

In January-June 2013 Belarus’ trade in services amounted to $5,209.8 million, 12.7% up from January-June 2012. The export of services rose by 15.4% to reach $3,342.1 million. The import of services went up by 8.3% to $1,867.7 million. The surplus of Belarus’ trade in services amounted to $1,474.4 million.
