Belaruskali, Qatari Muntajat to make mixed fertilizers

The Belarusian potash manufacturer Belaruskali and the state-run Qatari company Muntajat will develop the production of mixed mineral fertilizers, Belaruskali’s representatives told BelTA.

Belaruskali believes that this branch of cooperation with the Qatari partner is promising because Muntajat is an internationally recognized supplier of nitrogen fertilizers. “Work is now in progress to provide the planned production of compound fertilizers with the phosphorus component,” BelTA has been told.

During Belaruskali-Muntajat talks in Doha on 5 August the sides also talked over the commercial projects, which the delegation of the Belarusian state-run petrochemical concern Belneftekhim and OAO Belaruskali discussed in Brazilian Sao Louis the previous week. Those are the projects that envisage the construction of logistics infrastructure and the distribution of Belaruskali products in Brazil.

Cooperation between OAO Belaruskali and the Qatari company for marketing and distribution of chemical and petrochemical products Muntajat will advance in line with the bilateral framework agreement the sides signed earlier on 5 August. The Qatari side is ready to sell up to 3 million tonnes of Belaruskali’s potash fertilizers per annum. To make it happen, there are plans to step up the availability of Belaruskali products on previously unexplored markets.
