Cargill expands in Thailand

Cargill’s recent purchase of Siamakme Aquatic Feeds Co signal’s its intent to expand into the shrimp feed industry in Thailand. “Thailand is a major producer of fish and shrimp with strong growth potential. This acquisition strengthens our presence in Asia and provides a platform for further expansion in this important market,” Managing Director of Cargill Feed and Nutrition Thailand Watcharapong Poomongkutchai said. Cargill took over Siamakme’s 12 year-old manufacturing facility in Phetchaburi. The plant produces feeds for marine shrimp, including black tiger shrimp, whiteleg (vannamei) shrimp and freshwater prawns.
