China bans poultry from Arkansas

China has banned imports of poultry and poultry products from the state of Arkansas, in the US after a low-pathogenic strain of avian influenza was found in the state in June, US government and industry officials said. “All poultry and poultry products shipped from the State of Arkansas on or after July 22 2013 are ineligible for export,” the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said on its website. So far Japan and Hong Kong are two other Asian countries that have placed ban on the products.
