Gleadell sees UK as major cereals importer for 2013/14

31.07.2013

UK-based Gleadell Agriculture foresees the UK to continue being a key importer of cereals and rapeseed oil for this season, regardless of better harvesting.

According to Gleadell's  April to June pool results, extremely variable and generally poor UK quality meant that large-scale imports, mainly of milling wheat, were an on-going feature during that period, with an end-of-season imported wheat figure of over 2.6 million tonnes.
