Russia may export 20 MMT of grain this season – Agriculture Ministry

This season’s opening grain stocks in Russia totaled 7.2 MMT, said deputy ag minister Ilya Shestakov.

The Agriculture Ministry forecasts the overall grain crop at 95 MMT. The export potential of Russian grain will increase to 20 MMT.

Domestic grain consumption is estimated at 70.1 MMT. Feed use will be higher than last season because of expanding pork and poultry production.

Grain imports will fall to an average 0.7-0.8 MMT.
