Slovenia's purchased agricultural products increased by 3%

In May 2013 Slovenia's value of purchased agricultural products increased by 3% over April 2013 and by 1% over May 2012.

In comparison with April 2013, in May 2013 Slovenia's value of purchase in the group arable farming increased by 51%. In May 2013 more cereals, vegetables (higher purchase of lettuce and tomatoes) and fodder plants were purchased. Slovenia's value of purchased industrial plants was much lower.

In May 2013 Slovenia's value of purchase in the group fruit and wine growing decreased by 4% due to lower purchase of fruit and vine plants. Slovenia's value of purchased fruit was 23% higher – higher was Slovenia's value of purchased apples, and first strawberries and cherries were purchased. Slovenia's value of purchased alcoholic drinks was almost 4% higher (the quantity of purchased wine was lower but the prices were higher).

In May 2013 Slovenia's value of purchase in the group livestock breeding increased by almost 4%. Slovenia's value of purchased livestock decreased by 5%, mainly due to lower price of bulls for slaughter. Slovenia's value of purchased poultry and eggs increased by 14% (more chickens were purchased) and Slovenia's value of purchased milk by 4%.
