Ukrainian exports of agricultural products to Iraq will grow by 30-40%

30.07.2013

Supply of domestic agricultural products to the market of Iraq will increase by 30-40%. Currently it was lifted the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural producers for direct products delivery to Iraq. That was achieved due to enhanced cooperation of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and the Minister for Trade of the Republic of Iraq, Hairallah Hasan Babeker.

Ukrainian farmers can make direct supply of products to the Iraqi market as Iraq canceled the embargo on direct deliveries of Ukrainian goods. Thus, working with Iraqi importers without intermediaries would allow Ukrainian suppliers to significantly reduce the expenditures for agricultural exports to Iraq. To achieve this decision was possible after the visit of the Minister for Trade of the Republic of Iraq, Hairallah Hasan Babeker and his meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

Thus, due to enhanced bilateral work the strategic 8 year old problem was solved. As the advisor to the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, Abdula Bani Nasser said, by lifting the embargo Ukrainian agricultural exports to Iraq could increase by 30-40%. Previously there were supplies through third countries, which included a series of complicated procedures for Ukrainian producers. Furthermore, many Ukrainian producers repeatedly advocated the establishment of direct food products supplies to Iraq.

Moreover, these are Ukrainian agricultural products that are in the highest demand in the Iraqi market. It should be recalled that the day before during the meeting of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk and the Minister for Trade of the Republic of Iraq Hairallah Hasan Babeker there were discussed the prospects of increasing the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to Iraq, in particular of grain and grain products, vegetable oil as well as meat, eggs and dairy products.
