A Kazakhstan company boosted soybean oil exports to China

A delegation of LLC EFKO ALMATY and LLC EFKO KAZAKHSTAN representatives visited the “China-ASEFN” EXPO exhibition in Nanning (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China), where they had talks with potential partners about Kazakh commodity deliveries.

EFKO-ALMATY’s informs that the company already boosted soybean oil exports to China more than six times in the first half-year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

EFKO ALMATY CEO Nurzhan Kozhamuratov noted a keen interest of the Chinese partners in the company’s products. According to him, EFKO Group, to which the Kazakhstan company belongs, has been actively stepping up exports of its fat-and-oil products to China for a few years now. These products include bottled sunoil, specialized fats and margarines for the food industry.

Nurzhan Kozhamuratov says exporting processed oilseed products – oil and meals – is more profitable for Kazakhstan than exporting raw materials. “These are added-value products, whose production creates jobs in the country, he explained. Vegoil exports from Kazakhstan may expand to 400 KMT by 2021, and those of vegetable meals may reach 500 KMT. This will make the nation a key supplier of fat-and-oil products to Asian countries.”
