A trial shipment of Tasmanian flour to China could be a big boost to the wheat industry in the state

Tasmanian Flour Mills has dispatched a one hundred tonne order of flour milled at its Launceston plant.

General Manager Darren Lee says the order was for the flour, made from Tasmanian grown wheat, to be marketed as Tasmanian flour.

Darren Lee says already some growers are trialling new wheat varieties suitable to the local climate for ongoing flour orders to China.
