In December 2017, the agricultural production increased by 3.4% in annual terms and amounted to 199 billion rubles.

According to the statistical Agency, the number of cattle in farms of all agricultural producers at the end of December 2017 amounted to 18.6 million head, 0.6% smaller than a year earlier. In particular, the number of cows dropped by 0.7% to 8.2 million, sheep and goats - by 1.3%, to 24.5 million While the number of pigs, according to statistics, increased by 5.7% to 23.3 million.

In 2017 in farms of all categories produced 14.6 million tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), which is 4.7% above the level in 2016 is 31.1 million tons of milk (growth by 1.2%) and 44.8 billion eggs (growth by 2.8%).
