Agricultural production in Russia increased by 0.7%


The volume of production of agriculture in Russia in January-March 2017 increased by 0.7% compared with the figure for the same period of 2016 to 640,9 billion rubles, according to the materials Rosstat

In March of this year in annual terms, the volume of agricultural production grew by 1.1% and amounted to 277,6 billion rubles, and compared to February – by 43.4%.

The number of cattle in farms of all agricultural producers at the end of March 2017 amounted to 19.3 million head, which is 1.4% lower than a year earlier, in particular, the number of cows decreased by 1.3% to 8.3 million

At the same time, according to statistics, the number of livestock of sheep and goats grew by 0.9%, to 25.8 million, pigs – by 1.6%, to 22.8 million.

In the first quarter of 2017 in all categories of farms, according to the calculations, produced livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) 3.2 million tons (+3,3%), milk – 6.4 million tons (+1.5 percent), eggs 10.4 billion pieces (+2.4 percent).
