AgRural: Brazil’s national soybean crop progress at normal pace

Curitiba consultancy AgRural has released a new crop progress report revealing that the Brazilian soybean harvest reached 4.3 percent of the total area, which is slightly below the last season’s progress at 4.2 percent in this period. The average for the last five years. A high moisture has been reported in Mato Grosso, mostly in Sorriso, but no losses have been seen yet. On the other hand, Paraná has just harvested one percent of the total planted surface against 9.2 percent of a year ago. The reason was dry weather.

Harvest also started in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rondônia, Pará, Maranhão and Bahia, which is the only state that has registered lower than expected yields due to dry weather.
