AGRural hikes Brazil’s soy production forecast to 107 million metric tons

Consultancy AgRural from Curitiba has increased its soybean production forecast in Brazil to 107 million metric tons. The number is almost two million metric tons higher than the February estimate. The consultancy says that yields will be higher than previously expected in the states of Mato Grosso, Parana and Rio Grande do Sul – the top three producing divisions in the country.

Improvements are also seen in Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul. As of now, the harvest has advanced to 47 percent of the surface, which is a faster pace than last year, when the works had progressed to 41 percent of the area. The only delayed state so far is Parana.
