Andrey Danilenko: the share of falsified products in the dairy sector is approximately 7%

16.04.2018

This opinion was expressed by Chairman of Board of Soyuzmoloko Andrey Danilenko at a press conference in RIA-Novosti, reports The DairyNews.

"Falsification of dairy products is a deception in terms of composition, when one product is replaced by another. I believe in the statistics of Rospotrebnadzor - according to them, the level of falsification in the category of dairy products is about 7%. But if we talk separately about cheese, butter and cottage cheese the percentage is higher. The consumer should pay attention to the price and the name of the manufacturer. Milk consumption per capita is falling. It is happening because at the state level there is no stimulation of milk consumption and there is no fight against mythology of scaring the consumer off", - said Andrey Danilenko.

According to the expert, consumers want to trust what they buy and believe that the composition on the package matches its content.

"We see what is happening to the exchange rate in recent days. If the products are of domestic origin - pricing will be stable, you need to take this into account", - said Danilenko.

As noted by the Chairman of Board of Soyuzmoloko, today amendments to the code of administrative offences, suggesting an increase in fines for falsification got stuck in the State Duma.

"We need this to be accepted as soon as possible. Antitrust law prohibits dictating prices, but we believe that it would be right to set the lowest purchase price at the state level. There is also the problem of competition. Belarus is a brotherly country, but if there is evidence of importation or re-exportation of contraband goods, it is not a partnership. If we are talking about a single market, it is necessary to agree on common conditions and prices", Andrey Danilenko described the goals and problems of the industry.  It should be noted that according to Soyuzmoloko, today the average price of raw milk in Russia decreased to 21.30 rubles/kg.
