Armenia and Georgia agreed on discounts for the carriage of grain

In Georgia from September 15 comes into force the government decision, according to which some types of crops, including wheat, will no longer be imported to Armenia by land transport.

 According to the joint decision of the JSC "South Caucasian Railways" and JSC "Georgian railway", from September 1, 2018, the tariffs for railway transportation of grain cargoes by the Railways of the port of Poti — Armenia reduced by 52 percent. About it reports a press-service of the Armenian government.

As previously reported IA REGNUM, in Georgia from September 15 comes into force the government decision, according to which some types of crops, including wheat, will no longer be imported into Armenia by road.

According to the order, the import or export of wheat in the customs territory of Georgia is possible only by sea or rail. Thus, if used to import wheat from Russia used the Georgian military road, from 15 September, the wheat must be delivered to the port of Poti, and thence by railway to be delivered to Armenia. Thus due to the cost of transportation in Armenia could become more expensive bread and other flour products.
