Baltic Dry Index may recover with the start of new agrarian season
16.06.2017
Last week Baltic Dry Index lost 26 points going down to 824 points. Baltic Dry decreased 3% despite the upward movement in the recent sessions after the long reduction period. BDI also got some support from the sector of large-capacity carriages – Capesize, reports UkrAgroConsult.
A traditional decline in the maritime trade is expected in summer. Construction of a number of infrastructure projects in China is coming to a close, which will have an impact on the supply of necessary steel for these activities. Brokers expect that the new agrarian season will become a recovery driver of Panamax sector and Baltic Dry Index as a whole.
