Barley stocks in Ukraine down 20%

According to the State Statistics Service, 23.35 MMT of cereals and pulses were available in Ukraine as of September 1, 2017, or 4.5% less than at the same time last year (24.44 MMT).

As of the reporting date, wheat stocks were down 5.2% year-on-year at 16.78 MMT against 17.7 MMT as of September 1, 2016. Barley inventories fell by 19.6% against last year, to 3.26 MMT (4.06 MMT in September 2016).

The decrease in grain inventories results both from some yield decline this year and quite active exports in the first months of the season, reports UkrAgroConsult.

At the same time, grower and miller stocks of corn are up 20.4% year-on-year at 1.61 MMT against 1.34 MMT as of September 1, 2016.
