Belarus aimed to get a bumper rapeseed crop in 2018

The 2018 rapeseed crop in Belarus is forecast at 780 KMT – this would be an all-time high for the country, said Belarusian Deputy Ag Minister Vladimir Grakun, reports UkrAgroConsult.

“Target yields for all crops have been set this year, but the main focus is put on profitability of the future crop rather than on its size, to enable us to further develop,” the Deputy Minister stressed.

According to V.Grakun, the stockpiling of mineral fertilizers is still underway now. “The amounts of stockpiled fertilizers are already higher than in 2017. This concerns all of their types, including nitrogen, phosphate and potassium ones,” he noted.

As a reminder, 603 KMT of rapeseed was harvested in Belarus in 2017.
