Belarus and Turkey negotiate goods delivery along Dnieper

Belarus and Turkey are discussing prospects of delivering Belarusian cargoes along the Dnieper. In order to lower the cost of delivering Belarusian export cargoes to Turkey in future, the parties discussed prospects for using water cargo communication along the Dnieper River with the construction of a port for “river-sea” class vessels in Nizhnie Zhary village, Gomel Region, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The possibility of restoring international water transport along the Dnieper was discussed during the ninth meeting of Ukrainian-Belarusian working group on transport issues, held in Brest in March 2017. There parties agreed to apply to the European Commission for E-40 river route inclusion into Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). The issue of resumption the navigation along the international waterway E-40 is one of the priorities of the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine until 2030.
