Belarus. Dry weather is favorable for harvesting

04.09.2017

The dry weather that has set in this week is favorable for harvesting. The conditions for corn grain ripening have improved. According to the latest observations, the top 10-cm soil layer is moderately moist in most of Belarus. This is good for tillage, planting and emergence of winter rape. In some observation points, rape plants have emerged and begun the formation of leaves, reports UkrAgroConsult.

It should be noted that the best time for planting winter rape is running out.  However, the top soil layer is still too wet in the north of Mogilev region. Unfavorable conditions for harvesting develop there, as well as for tillage before planting winter cereals. The harvest of spiked cereals is dragging on in North Belarus due to adverse weather.

More information on crop conditions and progress of harvesting campaign in the countries of Black Sea Region is available to subscribers for weekly market report "Black Sea Grain & Oil" by UkrAgroConsult.
