Belarus' grain harvest at 3.75m tonnes as of 4 August

Belarus has harvested 3.75 million tonnes of grain, Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy reported to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko during the agricultural production cooperative Mayak Braslavsky in Braslav District on 4 August, BelTA has learned.

“As of today's morning we have harvested 48.7% of all the areas sown with grain crops. I think we will cross the mark of 50% in the evening today and crop over 4 million tonnes of grain. We have already harvested 3.75 million tonnes,” said Mikhail Rusy. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the main harvest campaign will be over by 20 August. The farmers will soon start planting winter canola. The head of state urged to keep the pace of the harvest campaign. “If we lose the tempo, fields will start to be overgrown with weeds. And we will not be able to thresh grain and will lose crops,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
