Belarus' harvest exceeds 7.5m tonnes of grain


Belarusian agrarians have already cropped more than 7.5 million tonnes of grain (including buckwheat and millet), BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 5 September, Belarus' grain harvest exceeded 7.5 million tonnes. Minsk Oblast harvested 1,886.6 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1.348 tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1,231.4 tonnes. Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast cropped 1,166.900 and 996,600 tonnes each. The harvest of Vitebsk Oblast reached 911,700 tonnes.

A total of 2,112,900 hectares, or 97.7%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. This year, the average yield makes up 35.7 centners per hectare, with Grodno Oblast leading with 42.7 centners per hectare.
