Belarus. Harvest of winter barley is 82% complete

Winter grains still develop one and a half or two weeks ahead of last year. According to the latest observations, winter cereals are now mostly at the grain filling stage. In the south of the country, they have started ripening or are at wax ripeness. The conditions for grain filling in cereal crops improved after recent rains, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Most plantings of spring barley and oats, locally spring wheat, are already at grain filling – they have come to milk ripeness. Late-seeded spring cereals are still at earing.

In the near future, moderate air temperatures and adequate moisture supply will lead to a longer period of grain filling. This is to contribute to kernel weight.

In Belarus, farmers have harvested winter barley from 9.1 Th ha (82%) by July 9. Its grain crop is now at 26.1 KMT with an average yield of 2.87 MT/ha.
