Belarus harvested the largest rapeseed crop in three years


The year 2017 was the most successful for Belarusian farmers in three years. The past year featured the largest area since three years ago, a nearly record yield and a rapeseed crop of over 0.6 MMT, reports UkrAgroConsult.

According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, rape plantings reached 339.3 Th ha in 2017 that is up 48% from last year’s 229.1 Th ha. The yield increased 46% to 1.81 MT/ha (1.24 MT/ha in 2016) and the rapeseed crop amounted to 603 KMT against 260 KMT a year ago.
