Belarus increases oilseed crushing capacities


A new oil-extraction plant built by Slavyansky Veles Holding is ready for launch in Vitebsk region, Belarus, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The design capacity of the new facility will approximate 4 KMT of oilseeds a month. The estimated cost of this investment project is BYN 1.5 Ml.

The oil extractor will process a few oilseeds, releasing rapeseed, sunseed and soybean oils and cakes.

Ukraine and Russia are considered as the main suppliers of feedstock.

As a reminder, Belarus intensified soybean purchases from Ukraine this season due to the opening of a second crusher of Sodruzhestvo Group. So, September-May soybean deliveries to this market grew to 236.2 KMT against 119.8 KMT in the whole of last season, UkrAgroConsult’s analysts note.
