Belarus takes Chinese loan of 2.5 billion yuan for major projects in agriculture


Belarus will attract a soft loan of China in the amount of 2.5 billion yuan (390 million dollars). Funds will be used for implementation of the investment project in the agricultural sector, says the decision of the Council of Ministers No. 440 of June 8, 2018.

 According to the document, Belarus in the years 2019-2024 will attract a preferential governmental loan to China for a period of 15 years for the second phase of construction high-tech agro-industrial production of full cycle in 2016-2032. The resolution also endorses the draft credit agreement between the Finance Ministry of Belarus and the Export-import Bank of China as the basis for negotiations.

A similar framework agreement for the implementation of the first stage high-tech investment projects in the agroindustrial complex of Belarus and China signed in February. Then the size of the soft kitaiskogo loan amounted to 1.75 billion yuan (273 million dollars).
