Belarus to face unfavorable conditions for field work

Sinking air temperature and rainfalls complicated the conditions for corn grain ripening. The conditions for field work got worse. Heavy rains, which occurred mostly in the central and northern parts of Belarus, made the soil too wet.

According to the latest data, the top 10-cm soil layer is very wet all over Vitebsk region and in most parts of Gomel region and excessively wet in some parts of Vitebsk region, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Unfavorable conditions for harvesting develop there. Planting of winter rape is complicated, as well as pre-plant tillage for winter crops. Better conditions for field work develop in the rest of Belarus, where precipitation rates were not so high. Lower air temperatures will restrain ripening of heat-loving crops within the next few days.
