Belarus-Ukraine trade over $6bn in 2013

In 2013 the trade between Belarus and Ukraine exceeded $6 billion, but was significantly lower than last year's, Belarusian Ambassador to Ukraine Valentin Velichko told a press conference in Kyiv.

According to the Ambassador, this year both imports and exports shrank "due to a number of circumstances, crisis, etc." In particular, he drew attention to the drop in the supply of oil products from Belarus.

With the bilateral trade on decline, Belarus was the fifth largest trading partner of Ukraine in 2013. Ukraine was ranked second largest trading partner for Belarus after Russia this year, Valentin Velichko said.

As reported, in 2012 the trade between Belarus and Ukraine amounted to $7.9 billion, up 28% from 2011.
