Belarus. Winter crops conditions

According to plant growing tests conducted in late January, winter cereals are normally viable in most fields under observation. Overall, winter cereals in Belarus had either fully recovered, or their sparseness was within natural loss limits. Somewhat higher-than-normal sparseness was only revealed in single wheat and triticale samples in Vitebsk, Minsk and Gomel regions.

Most samples of winter rape plants also showed either full recovery or insignificant sparseness. Slightly higher-than-normal sparseness was observed in some areas in the northern, central and eastern regions of the country. 5% of samples in Vitebsk region showed heavy sparseness – winter rape had been partially winter-killed there, reports UkrAgroConsult.
