Belarusian companies got interested in Ukrainian ports instead of Baltic ports

10.10.2018

Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority announced that Belarusian companies considered Ukrainian ports as an alternative to Baltic ports for exporting their goods, reports UkrAgroConsult.

Representatives of USPA held a number of meetings and negotiations with Belarusian companies: “BELARUSKALI”, “Belarusian Railways”, “Belarusian Metallurgical Company”, “Belarusian Oil Company”.

The head of USPA, Raivis Veckagans, presented prospects for cooperation with Ukrainian ports, as well as possibilities of developing transportation on inland waterways of Ukraine and Belarus using the E40 waterway between the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea to the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus and representatives of the companies.

He added that capacities of Ukrainian ports allowed receiving and handling Belarusian commodities in large volumes.

Logistics between Belarus and Ukraine can be built using capabilities of “Ukrzaliznytsya”, as well as inland waterways.
