Black Sea flour conquers world

The 2015/16 season was remarkable for Black Sea region not only owing to grain, but also its processed products records. First of all, we are talking about flour.

In the 2015/16 marketing year the share of the Black Sea region represented by Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan was about 20% of total world flour exports. Turkey, which traditionally covers about 25% of the whole flour export market, remained the leader, but considering the productivity prospects of the 2016/17 season, everything is possible in the coming year.

According to UkrAgroConsult, the start of the new 2016/17 season shows that flour exports from the region keep growing. In July 2016 the key countries of the Black Sea region shipped 170.7 KMT of flour to foreign markets, which was 6% more than in July 2015. In such a manner, if the current export tempo is preserved, the region has all chances to become the world’s flour market leader.
