Brazil’s Abiove raises soybean production estimate


The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industry (Abiove) released this Thursday its estimate for the Brazilian soybean production putting it at 101.3 million metric tons at the 2016/2017 season. The volume is 4.9 percent higher comparing to the previous season.

For exports in 2017, Abiove has forecast a volume of 57 million metric tons, which is 8.7 higher than what is expected for this year. Nearly 41 million metric tons of soybean would be processed in the country next year, while about 40.3 million metric tons would be used as meal, fuel or oil in 2016.
