Brazil's meat exports to Philippines may increase in 2018

06.11.2017

Following the Philippine government’s lifting on the ban on Brazilian meat exports, producers from Brazil are seeing a record high of meat shipments to the Philippines in 2018 on strong demand for poultry products. The Brazilian Animal Protein Association said their meat processors have already invested in its manufacturing plants to supply quality Brazilian meat to the Philippine market.

Brazil is the Philippines’ top source of beef imports and among the top sources of raw materials, particularly MDM. Brazil’s poultry meat exports to the Philippines in January to July this year went up by 35% to 32,339 tonnes. Brazilian pork exports reached 2,045 tonnes, 66.5 % higher than last year.
