Bulgaria. Barley harvest drawing to an end


Bulgarian farmers continue harvesting wheat and barley. According to current information of Bulgaria’s Ag Ministry, barley was harvested from 129 Th ha (99% of the plan) by July 27. Its crop amounted to 614.6 KMT with an average yield of 4.77 MT/ha that is 7.7% higher than last year, reports UkrAgroConsult.

At the same time, wheat was harvested from 977.2 Th ha (89% of the plan), or 9.8% less than at the same time last year. Farmers got 5144.8 KMT (down 0.7% from 2016) with an average yield of 5.27 MT/ha, or up 10% year-on-year.
