Bulgaria decreased plantings of winter rape

According to preliminary information of the Ag Ministry of Bulgaria, sunflower seed has been harvested from 734.5 Th ha this year (99.9% of its forecast area of 735 Th ha). Farmers got 1886.6 KMT of sunseed (+2.5% on the year) with a yield of 2.57 MT/ha (+12.7% on the year), reports UkrAgroConsult.

157.2 Th ha had been sown to rape by November 8 against 168.4 Th ha a year ago. Its planting was 6.7% behind last year against a 6.3% delay seen a week earlier. This year’s decrease in winter rape acreage in key European growing countries results from unfavorable weather conditions.
