Bulgaria. Grain market featured mostly upward price trends

Prices are propped up by steady demand against the background of some decline in domestic supply. Part of growers hold back sales in expectation of more attractive purchase prices. The pace of wheat exports from the country has already actually caught up with last year.

The corn market is supported by strengthening export prices along with restrained supply from farmers, reports UkrAgroConsult.

The barley market is flat now. Bulgarian traders have already marketed the bulk of exportable stocks. On average, the pace of exports lags 30% behind last year in view of a lower crop and shorter supply of barley in the country. Despite the slowdown in sales and purchases, barley prices are supported by a decline in the commodity’s availabilities in Bulgaria.
