Bulgaria started corn harvesting

Corn harvesting began in Bulgaria. According Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture, as of August 25 1,453 Th ha of corn were threshed, which was 0.3% of the plan (422.1 Th ha). 6014 KMT with the average yield of 4.14 MT/ ha were threshed.

Corn harvesting area (422.1 Th ha) is 0.3% less than in 2015. Pace of harvesting is 13.1% slower than in 2015  due to later start. On the reporting date, average corn yield is  14.6% less than in 2015.

As a reminder, according to estimates of UkrAgroConsult , Bulgarian farmers decreased corn sowing acreage by 9.5% for harvest of  2016 to 430 Th ha.
